Reconnect a Foster Child with Family
Thank You for taking a moment to see how you can help move a foster child from being alone in a strange place to being reunited with loving, caring family members who will give this deserving child the permanent home they need.
Why Finding Relatives Is So Important
The process of looking for family members of a foster child is called family finding. This process is critical because it is the first step to moving a child out of foster care. Once enough relatives have been located and notified, social services works with them to find those who are willing to be involved with the foster child. A permanent home for the child is the ultimate goal.
Without family finding, many children stay in foster care for years bouncing from one place to the other. Once they aged out (become too old to stay in the foster care program), they end up on the streets with little or no support.
Why We Advocate for Foster Children
Find Families In Mexico believes that all U.S. foster children deserve to live happy, healthy lives in a permanent home. When relatives live outside the U.S., we believe in challenging the foster care system status quo. By locating foster children's family members in Mexico, we become the primary method to move these kids out of foster care and into forever homes.
Our Goal for 2016
Our goal for 2016 is to reunite 200-225 foster children with their families. There are 400,000 children in U.S. foster care today. 84,000 of these children are of Hispanic heritage meaning that most of them have at least one adult family member still living in Mexico.
But you can make a difference right now and help these children.
Below is just two of the many success stories that are possible because of the generous contributions from individuals who enjoy and want to support an effort so children don't have to languish for years in foster care.

Casa Pacifica in Ventura County wanted to locate family members for a foster teen who had been a ward of the state for years. When a foster teen is not reconnected with their family before they age (are forced) out of foster care, they have a 90% chance of dropping out of school, being homeless, or going to prison.
